This term we will take a closer look at some major British writers whose novels/plays/short stories have been adapted for cinema with varying degrees of success. Literary adaptation has long been a stalwart of British cinema with its love of costume drama. We will explore the delights as well as problems and difficulties of this process. The writers we shall examine in some detail are:
