By popular demand Clive is back with his course on World Religions. The first sessions will look at the three main Eastern Religions to be found in the UK – Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Subsequent sessions will turn to Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and time will also be devoted to other religions that participants would like to know more about. Clive is a national leader in religious education and this is one of his primary areas of interest.
25 October - Hinduism 1 - Breaking open your brain - a radical rethink about what matters
1 November - Hinduism 2 - How does it actually work?
8 November - Buddhism - Does a religion need a god? Is Buddhism a religion or a philosophy?
15 November - Sikhism - A neat and tidy religion - comparatively new and well-packaged
22 November - Judaism - How would we express this if explaining it to someone else?
29 November - Christianity - Radical departures - the most 'unlike' religion of them all
6 December - Islam - Pure and simple. How irresistible is Islam?
13 December - Other religions - in this session, Clive will try to explain about any other religions requested
20 December - So what do we know about 'religion'? Does the word mean anything helpful at all?
You can also take a course on Shakespeare with Clive on Thursday mornings. Click here for more information.
