Whether you have done Melton or not, you can register of one of our shorter graduate courses which start on 15th April 2013.

This course explores the most varied but much neglected and underrated part of the Jewish Bible that is both exciting and enigmatic. It includes Job’s probing questions about suffering, Esther’s courage and creativity, Daniel’s visions of the supernatural, Ezra’s radical changes to the nature of Judaism, the everyday wisdom of Proverbs and the glory of the Psalms. We will engage with the historical context of ‘The Writings’ but spend most of our time exploring and interrogating specific texts, the ways in which they have been interpreted and—where relevant—their place in Jewish life. US AND THEM?—JUDAISM AND OTHER RELIGIONS
Mondays 2.00—3.30 pm
Three terms, £200 per term taught by Angela Gluck

This course gives you an understanding and appreciation of the major religious traditions represented in Britain today. It explores certain life themes that prevail in all religions and the relations between Jews and adherents of other religious traditions. Some sessions will involve visits to places of worship and cultural centres in the London area.
