"The modern world was made for the Jews - and the Jews were made for modernity". During the 19th and 20th centuries Jews became central to the life of many of the great cities of the world. Over the next year Trudy Gold will be taking an in-depth look at the history and politics of some of the great cities and their various epochs - and in the afternoons Patrick Bade will bring to life each city's art, music and culture.
