SOLD OUT!!!!!

By popular demand, Trudy Gold and Patrick Bade invite you to join them on another fascinating day trip to Paris

This time we will get privileged access to Paris’ most venerable auction house the Hotel Drouot. Drouot has an amazing atmosphere more akin to an oriental bazar than a modern auction house. At any time half a dozen auctions may be taking place simultaneously. Priceless objects are sold alongside worthless junk. There is probably no auction house in Europe where you are more likely to find a bargain. We will be given a private tour by one of the directors of the firm. We will be able to handle some of the more interesting objects. For those brave enough to try it out the bidding system will be explained. The more timid will still be able to enjoy the buzz.

We shall have a traditional lunch at Au Petit Riche. After lunch we shall visit the delightful Musee Cognacq-Jay, a small but choice collection of Old Master paintings and decorative arts in an aristocratic town house in the heart of the Marais district. Afterwards there will be time to explore the historic Jewish area of the Rue des Rosiers.

The cost of this trip will be £200 per person which includes return travel on the Eurostar, metro fares and entry into the museums – but does not include meals. Places will be strictly limited to 15 and will be allotted on a first come first served basis.
