A unique opportunity for nine aspiring film makers and tennis players to spend four days with professionals, using state of the art film equipment and receiving top class tennis coaching.
The film making programme will be held in the morning and taught by tutors at J-doc, the LJCC's own Film Making Documentary Workshop. Students will learn to handle cameras, prepare a film project and plan a film shoot, using broadcast quality cameras and Final Cut Pro software, under expert supervision.
After a choice of hot or cold lunch (kosher) at Ivy House, transport will be provided to take the participants over to Brondesbury Tennis Club for sessions with their experienced tennis coaches. Players will be taught according to their tennis levels, with a variety of games aimed at improving balance and hand-eye coordination throughout the first three days culminating in a fun tournament with prizes on the last day.

The London Jewish Cultural Centre's J-doc:
J-doc is the LJCC's own film making documentary workshop. J-doc's activities are two-fold: film making tuition and a wide variety of editing and conversion services. Documentary film making courses are held on an on-going basis for youngsters, students, young professionals and mature adults. Tutors also discuss teamwork and the development of ideas from scripts to the final on-screen results. The limit we put on student numbers enhances the overall experience.
J-doc also initiates its own documentaries and is very willing to engage in film-projects with students, or any inspired organization.
Arnon Naor is an Israeli born musician and songwriter, with a wide experience in audio-visual technology. As well as co-managing J-Doc, he is a lecturer specialising in Israeli film, and has been running the Israeli film club at the LJCC for the past 4 years.
Max Diamond is a tutor at J-Doc and is also its co-manager. His formative film making years took place in various academic and workshop surroundings from Paris to New York.
Brondesbury Tennis Club:
Brondesbury Tennis Club is based in Harman Drive, Cricklewood and benefits from a beautiful environment with seven artificial grass courts, two of which are floodlit, a cricket pitch and a clubhouse. In the event of bad weather the squash courts will be used. The Club is happy to provide tennis rackets for the duration of the course.
Further information on Brondesbury Tennis club can be found at www.brondesburysportsclub.co.uk
All Brondesbury Tennis coaches are DCA qualified (Development Coach Award) and hold first aid certificates. The Head Coach, Alex Dillon, will be assisted by three coaches, all very enthusiastic and with extensive experience of teaching both young people and adults.
