Morning 10.30-12.30
Clive Lawton
Concepts of Good & Evil in Judaism
Christianity offers its believers the promise of heaven - and the threat of eternal damnation. The Torah is less dogmatic, which begs the question: can a Jew go to hell?
Afternoon 2.00-3.30
William Tyler
Who is a Heretic?
Catholics and Protestants have condemned each other as heretics; oceans of blood have been split over tiny differences in the interpretation of both the old and new testaments. Focusing on England during the Reformation, William Tyler will take us back to a time when heresy was a capital crime to which there was no defence.
Sandwich lunch is included
