In 2013 we will be celebrating the 5th birthday of the Hampstead & Highgate Literary Festival. The dates are fixed, 15-17 September and we are planning to make it bigger and better than ever.
We have been hosting a series of exciting events to set the scene. In January, John McCarthy talked to a full house about his emotive, fascinating book, You Can't Hide the Sun - A Journey through Palestine, and,in March,we welcomed renowned philanthropist, Dame Stephanie Shirley, who talked with Trudy Gold about her new book Let IT Go.
Authors already confirmed for September include; Baroness Gillian Shephard, Tracy Chevalier, Mark Thompson, Kate Figes, Sathnam Sanghera, Miles Jupp, Deborah & Lottie Moggach, Peter Stanford, Edward Stourton, Marcus Berkmann and Maggie O Farrell and a number of creative writing workshops.
On Sunday 15 September, this year's Festival will also include a host of events and activities for children, including special guest Judith Kerr. And, for the first time, in partnership with the City of London Corporation we will be hosting Poetry in the Park on the bandstand in Golders Hill Park.
The Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival is organized by the London Jewish Cultural Centre in association with the Ham&High.
