The Making of Movie Madness III

A group of young filmmakers worked together with LJCC FUSION and the Centre's J-Doc film production tutors to create a short adventure film during half-term week. Some filmed this behind-the-scenes footage. A festive red carpet movie premiere followed with family and friends.

Ulpan 2008 by J-Doc
19th March 2008Shalom! This is the best intensive summer Hebrew course in town. Conducted by Haggit Inbar-Littas, director of the languages department, the Ulpan combines a serious methodological approach with a fun and lively atmosphere. 17th March 2009We have been privileged to help create and produce an innovative schools' educational pack, based on the work of Nicholas Winton, who saved 669 children from Czechoslovakia in 1938. The book, DVD and teachers' guide has been distributed free to every secondary school in the country in the last twelve months... This project will teach children the importance of standing up to be counted and how each of us is capable of making a vital difference to other people's lives.

The London Jewish Cultural Centre (LJCC) were integral to the production of a special Blue Peter Holocaust Memorial Day programme in January 2009. Acting as advisors on the production, the Centre facilitated meetings with Freda Wineman, one of the survivors working closely with the LJCC, who ultimately agreed to take a journey back to Auschwitz (the first time since 1944) with new Blue Peter presenter Joel de Vries, on a journey to explore his Jewish roots.

Every Friday morning Ivy House resounds with the hum of toddlers and their mums, dads and careers enjoying soft play, good company, music, song and dance with experienced play leader Ilana Bendel. 25th July 2008A number of aspiring Spielbergs, aged 12 to 15 years old, joined this year's LJCC J-doc filmmaking summer scheme.
With just 4 days to develop scripts, story-boards, shooting schedules, and to cast and film the final product, each of the 4 groups achieved a remarkably finished product. Each of the 4 films will be screened in the coming weeks. Enjoy.
